Cristian Balteo leads an international team of Investment Specialists at Nordea Asset Management (NAM), focusing on the Multi-Asset Team’s risk premia portfolios. His team engages with and supports some of the world’s largest institutional and wholesale investors, covering the full spectrum of NAM’s quantitative solutions. His experience and expertise span from unconstrained multi-asset, liquid alternative, fixed income, and equity strategies to multi-factor, equity-enhanced indexation portfolios (including UCITS funds, segregated mandates, and active ETFs). Cristian joined NAM in 2013. Before assuming his current role in 2021, he worked as Senior Investment Specialist covering a wide range of multi-asset, equity, and fixed income strategies and later as a Sales Director for the Iberian market. Prior to NAM, he spent six years as a Fund Selector at a leading Spanish independent financial advisory firm and four years as an Equity Trader. Cristian holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from Universidad Central de Venezuela, an MSc in International Relations from IBEI, and an MBA from ESADE Business School.
